Wholehearted Living ~ Guest Speaker Night, May 19, 7-9PM

It’s not very often that Celebrate Recovery on the Plateau is able to secure a guest speaker at our weekly meetings.  So when we do, you know it is a special night.  Mark your calendar…

On Monday, May 19th, we are welcoming Linda Reed, a local therapist, friend to the ministry, and advocate for the biblical 12-step model of Celebrate Recovery.  Linda will be speaking on “Wholehearted Living: How to Show Up/Be Seen/Live Brave™.”  Her presentation is based on the research by Dr. Brené Brown, author of New York Times bestsellers, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead and The Gifts of Imperfection.

Embrace vulnerability 01

Dr. Brown’s TED (Technology Entertainment & Design) talk on “The Power of Vulnerability” is one of the top viewed TED talks with over 15 million hits.  Her research is groundbreaking in the areas of vulnerability and shame and has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, The Katie Show and Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday.

It you haven’t seen her popular TED talk before, we highly recommend carving out 20 minutes of your time to check it out here.

Hi! I go to a CR group in Baltimore, but enjoy reading what’s going on across the country. In case you’re interested, I write a devotional blog based around the CR 12-step teachings found in the participant’s guides. My current 12-step group is using these as an additional encouragement while going through the steps, so I thought they might be helpful to your group, too. My blog is
http://healinghurtstogether.com . Thanks for letting me share. 🙂

Terrific TED Talk! I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t get an ah ha out of it. I’m sorry I can’t make it Monday night.

    • Chas, Sorry to hear you can’t join us. Be on the lookout for several live testimonies in the coming weeks from people you know but who haven’t shared before or done it at our location. Hope to see you at a meeting soon.
